Argyle Uncut

Heading over to the sister isle Tobago is always a pleasure, especially if you include the Argyle Uncut River Exploration.

Standing at 54m/177ft, the main waterfall at Argyle is arguably Tobago’s most prolific. It attracts locals and foreigners alike, to its cool, crisp water that flows down from what most believe to be three levels.. but are there more?!

This 'uncut' edition of Argyle starts in the village of Roxborough. The initial 3 km/1.9 mi approach poses a steady and scenic incline along the Rain-forest Ridge Road. From here we enter the rain forest and embark on another 3 km/1.9 mi trek, until the thunderous sound of your first waterfall encounter is heard long before you see it. You are now essentially at the source of Argyle; your descent starts here!

This expedition does cover a lot of ground, but the spectacular topography of this route and the excitement it provides, will make the time pass quickly. The terrain is quite technical and involves 5 rappelling segments; lots of rock hopping and lots of scrambling with the ultimate reward of soaking in the splendor of the Argyle Waterfall at the end.
