Upon successful completion of this course, you will be licensed to dive up to 18m/60ft (accompanied by a dive guide). This course can be completed in 4 days, but ultimately the pace will be determined by your level of comfort and competency in grasping the compulsory skills needed to explore the underwater world using SCUBA.

This course involves a theory/knowledge development segment; Confined water training and 4 open water dives. The theory segment can be done face to face with CoolBlue or directly through PADI via the PADI eLearning platform (https://www.padi.com/padi-elearning). Either way you will cover the key principles, concepts and terms you need to know for safe and enjoyable diving.

Confined water training is either done in a swimming pool or in a calm confined bay in water shallow enough to stand up in. Here you will learn and practice your SCUBA skills which you will need for open water diving.

Once these segments are completed we will embark on 2 open water dives. These will typically be done at Macqueripe Bay (Chaguaramas); here you will have the opportunity to put into practice and competently demonstrate the techniques and safety skills you would have learnt in the theory and confined water training sessions.

Following this we head over to Tobago to complete your last 2 open water dives. These will typically be boat dives. If you rather do all your training in Tobago, we can tailor your dive package to suit your request.

At this stage you would have met the course requirements and will now be qualified to dive almost anywhere in the world. You can also continue your diving education with us, by registering for the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver Course.
