Signing up for the DSD gives you a fun scuba diving experience. It takes you up to 12m/40ft in full scuba gear. Here you will get a quick and easy introduction to the basic safety aspects and rudimentary skills required for diving.

The minimum age requirement to sign up for the DSD is 10 years old with no prior experience with scuba diving necessary. You do however need to be in reasonable physical health and will be required to complete our medical questionnaire prior to the start of this activity.

It essentially involves looking at the PADI DSD video; completing a quick quiz; listening to a detailed safety briefing; donning your equipment and then taking the big plunge!

With Coolblue Diving, this will typically be done at Macqueripe Bay (Chaguaramas). Here you can encounter Green turtles, eels and various schools of fish. If however there is a SCUBA diving tour heading over to Tobago, you will be more than welcome to join us there for your DSD experience.

Although not a certification program, you will learn the basic steps which it takes to be a PADI certified diver. Completing the DSD can also exempt you from part on the PADI open water diver course, if you register and complete it within a 6 month period.
