A short trip to arguably the most picturesque bay on Trinidad's North Coast. Join us for some fun, sea and sun and oh yes... a chance to get up close and personal with juvenile Green Turtles and even Oil Birds!
The CoolBlue team guides you to a hidden pathway to this secluded, breathtaking beach on the North Coast of Trinidad. Shortly after the Blanchisseuse Spring Bridge is where you begin your 3km/1.9mi trek for the Crosswaves tour; this is another one the entire family can enjoy!
The gradient of this approach is quite mild, but does however have a 300m/0.2mi segment with a 45 degree incline. Shortly after this you start making your descent onto the secret bay!
Depending on the tidal movement when you get there, the islets within the bay cause the waters to enter from different directions. When they meet (especially on the rising tide), a 'Crosswave' occurs. The result is the perfect 'waterpark' effect for all to have some fun.
We synchronize this trek with the tide charts and aim to arrive at our destination toward the end of the falling tide; as a result, meeting times may fluctuate.
For those who opt for the snorkeling tour option, we will circumnavigate the largest of the islets within the bay, onward bound to Green Turtle Channel. During this activity, there is a very good chance of encountering juvenile Green Sea Turtles or even a Southern Stingray. The snorkel tour rest stop is the bonus round; this is when you get your Oil Bird treat!
