Zara's Crossing
This adventure begins with a trek down to Saut D’eau beach, into the Caribbean Sea. Your eventual 'touchdown' is Macqueripe Beach. Despite the challenge of this crossing, your encounters along the way will make it all worthwhile .
Tour Details:
‘Zara’s Crossing’ has to be one of the most rewarding coasteering adventures in our offering.
The 16km/10mi journey, will leave you with priceless and unforgettable memories of our beautiful North Coast. You will be able to travel across many secluded, beautiful areas of the coastline, and become one of the very few people to have explored them.
The tour begins with a trail walk down to the small secluded beach of Saut D’eau. At the beach there is an old statue of St. Peter which can prove to be a very interesting 'photo op', before the hard work begins. Once we have arrive at the beach, it’s time to put on your fins and swim out into the ocean.
The first section of the crossing will consist of scenic open water swims along the coastline where you may spot various rays, a variety of fish and even Capuchin monkeys practicing their cliff hanging skills. This open water swim will continue for quite some time until the first stop of the day where we will take some time to hydrate and fuel up. After this, all fins are re-adorned and the swimming continues!
Moving forward we will, be faced with some significant rock scrambles which can prove to be quite difficult. However, with a positive attitude and what will feel like much needed hydration breaks, all will be well. Along the way, there will also be amazing spots that can be the backdrop for your next favourite picture.
Throughout this entire journey, you will be faced with some epic scenery, challenging rock scrambles, refreshing open water swims, and your fill of spectacular photos. Although this journey may be a test of your mental and physical toughness, you will leave with the overwhelming satisfaction that you were able to conquer ‘Zara’s Crossing’.
